Mini Twig Stove

Mini Twig Stove

Over the weekend I saw some pictures twig stoves on the net and decided to have a go. I took an old baked beans can and using a cut-off wheel on a Dremel cut out air-holes and a door. I also made a wire griddle out of an old hanger so that I could place a cup on it to boil water if I wanted to. Just make sure that before you use it, you burn of the plastic coating on your wire-hanger and the inside of the can, also make sure that the can does not give off the smell of burning plastic.

These types of stove work really well and by far the biggest pro about them is that you don't have to chop up some wood to get them going. Dry twigs from the forest floor is all you need. If you made it out of a 1 gallon coffee tin you could probably cook your breakfast on it.

Best of all is that you don't need to go and buy anything to build it unless you want to get more elaborate and add legs and a handle. This size of stove is perfect for boiling water for your tea or coffee when camping, out on a hike, or even in your back-garden.
