In this guide I will tell you how to restore carbon steel to a mirror polish.

When cutting fruit and vegetables or when tannin comes in to contact with carbon steel it will leave a stain.This is called a patina and some say that it helps to protect the steel from rust.If you don like it then this is how to remove it without scratching the steel.
- Buy some metal polish like Brasso.
- Rub it in to the steel.
- every 5 minutes rinse the steel of the chemical.
- you should see the rag become black as the patina comes off.
- wash the steel and finish of by polishing with a layer of oil.
Your carbon steel should now have a mirror polish.
