Spoon whittling guide:
- Choose the wood your going to use.
- Draw the shape of the spoon on it.
- Carve away -using long strokes- the excess wood.
- As the spoon beings to take shape carve the bowl.
- Now taper down the handle to the required size.
- carve out the bowl with a hook-knife or 'U'shaped gouge.
- Sand the spoon till its smooth.
- Varnish with food safe oil(In my case walnut oil).
- Let the oil soak in 3/6 days.
- Apply 4 to 5 coats.
- Once dry use and enjoy
